Sometimes that can look like games and movement, other times it’s just letting things be without overthinking it. I’m not here to direct every second, but rather to notice what’s already happening and quietly guide when needed.

What I've learned after photographing hundreds of families is that kids rarely struggle because it's "too late." They struggle when they're hungry, rushed, overstimulated, or expected to sit still for too long. Sunset family photography sessions don't feel like bedtime. They feel like exploring fields, flower gardens, and beaches. Looking for butterflies, picking wildflowers, holding mom's hand, riding on dad's shoulders, playing ring around the rosie, or setting off on a little adventure. Most little ones just think we're out having fun. We'll absolutely make time for those classic portraits that you’ll want, but we'll also welcome the giggles, the cuddles, the running around, and all the wonderfully real chaotic moments in between. Those are the memories you'll want to hold onto most.
One later night won't undo a healthy routine, but it might give you memories your children will treasure for the all the days of the rest of their lives.

It's session day! This is your only job: show up as yourself and be open to my direction. I'll take care of the rest! We'll laugh, wander, chase golden light, probably get our shoes a little dirty, and create something that feels like you. I'll guide you the whole time without making anything feel stiff or forced, leaving plenty of room for the little in-between moments that end up becoming everyone's favorites.

Within four weeks, your full gallery will land in your inbox (with a few sneak peeks along the way because I know waiting is the worst). From there, you can download your images, share them with family and friends, order prints and artwork straight from your gallery, and relive this season whenever you want. For anything beyond that, mileage is charged at the standard rate of 0.72 cents per mile. If you’re dreaming of something further away or a destination session, I’m 100000% down to make it happen, just reach out and we can chat through the details and create a custom quote!
I don’t cap the number of images you’ll receive from your session. I shoot in a very movement-based, natural way, so there are usually a lot of genuine moments that end up in your final gallery. If it’s a good photo, you’re getting it. I always guarantee a minimum number of images, but more often than not, you’ll receive well beyond that. If you’ve booked a highlights gallery, you’ll still receive your full gallery with watermarked images so you can see everything from your session. From there, you’ll be able to select your included amount of favorites for download, and if you fall in love with more (which usually happens), you can always purchase additional images or upgrade to the full gallery.
